I have published about two hundred poems in literary journals in the U.S., England, and Ireland, including Poetry, The Paris Review, The Georgia Review, TriQuarterly, Harvard Review, Tin House, Poetry Ireland Review, STAND, AGNI, Threepenny Review, Southern Review. I’ve received poetry awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, Texas Commission on the Arts, Texas Institute of Letters, and two Pushcart Prizes. Critical essays on the craft of poetry have appeared in The Yale Review, Kenyon Review, and American Poetry Review. I am Paul Whitfield Horn Distinguished Professor in the English Department at Texas Tech University.
